Who is Therese Miu?
I was born and raised in the Philippines. I am the 6th child in my family. I have 5 brothers and 3 sisters. My siblings are my seeds of blessings in this tapestry of life.
Although I enjoyed growing up in the Philippines both my parents were living here in America. I am truly grateful for both of my parents for their persistence in making sure we had a sustainable lifestyle here in America.
I will never forget that day.
I felt so out of place, so alone in a strange new country. Growing up here was really tough, especially in my teenage years.
Rebirth- A New Light of Awakening
I was 17 years old when I attended College. This experienced proved to be transformational in terms of my thought processes and personal growth. I began to expand my mind on different horizons and really started thinking “outside the box”. The subjects that appealed to me were philosophy, psychology, communication, history, linguistics, sociology, and Cultural Studies.
When I was 21 years old I fell in love with my soul mate Jeff Miu. I am thankful everyday for his support, genuine love, and commitment to our relationship. He is really an amazing soul mate to journey with in this life together and he inspires me so much to be a better person each and everyday.
I lived in New York City shortly after graduating and started to pursue different paths. I was looking to become a counselor, case-manager, or social worker but I felt so lost with my life.
FEELING HOPELESS
The American economy took a downturn when I graduated in 2002 (right after 9/11) that looking for a job was almost hopeless.
I saw volunteering as my vehicle to get inside the doors of Non-Profit Organizations. Although I had no income and a surmountable amount of student debt accumulating I was truly happy to find a niche which I could grow into and feel at home.
The first volunteer work I ever did was for the All Stars Project which creates educational and performing arts activities for thousands of poor and minority young people outside of school. I felt like the doors of heaven just opened and I felt a big “AHA” moment. I still remember my many volunteer moments with the Red Cross and standing outside FAO Swartz on a cold day close to Christmas, being hyper and loud asking people to donate to orphaned children without gifts that Christmas.

I was truly doing what I loved and enjoyed most which was helping people. Ever since the All Stars Project I had the opportunity to work with inner city youth, mentally ill populations, and mentally and physically challenged children.
When I think of all the work I’ve done with such wonderful people I feel truly blessed to have been a part of their life.
The Birth of Many Entrepreneurial Adventures
In the year 2004, I made my way back to California and still continually worked as a social worker. My twin sister encouraged me to join her in an entrepreneurial venture. I was 24 years old at that time and I thought “hey, why not?” this could be a great change for me.
I was in charge of marketing though I had NO prior experience with marketing whatsoever. I didn’t think much about it at first but then after going through the motions I actually started to fall in love with business ownership.
I saw it as a way to awaken my purpose in life which was to live life with freedom, creativity, passion, and bliss.
What being an entrepreneur does for your identity is give you a strong sense of self. You can now begin to navigate at your own pace, take innovative actions, look at solutions, develop a plan for personal growth, broaden your networking skills, and expand your consciousness to different heights of possibilities. This means maintaining a level of integrity and purpose for every action taken.
I noticed that I started to dream all over again like I used to when I was a kid. My mind just kept stretching. Since the opportunity of entrepreneurship presented itself to me in 2004, I have been blessed to have done 4 businesses before age 29. The failures and successes along the way have taught me so much about the importance of being committed to my goals and to stay consistent in all of my actions.
FREEDOM~~~~FLEXIBILITY~~~~INNOVATION
My inherent passion is really living the highest potential of myself, nourishing & nurturing my relationship with people in my life, giving value and lastly, personal, financial and spiritual growth.
I see business as a path to awakening ones inherent purpose and passion, discovering ones gifts and giving value to humanity.
Motherhood: My Most IMPORTANT role
I gave birth to my son Jeroen Sharma Miu @ age 27. I feel that being a parent is a TRUE Privilege.

I believe parenting is the MOST IMPORTANT ROLE in a person’s life. It is humbling and honoring at the same time.
I make a conscious effort to properly manage my family time with Jeff & Jeroen.
My son is also the driving engine that made me study Holistic Lifestyle (you can learn more here about what Holistic Health means). My family is the number one reason for me to keep on going and reaching all my dreams and goals.
They are EVERYTHING!

I want us to create a life of freedom together and continually raise our consciousness to a higher vibration of love. I believe we can do this together as long as we continually learn to awaken our true purpose in life by sharing our wonderful gifts to the world. To live and breathe truth, to love passionately with an open heart, and to understand our inherent nature to help others along their own path, is my highest goal.
I believe each one of us on this planet has a true purpose to fulfill.
Some may be greater than others some maybe small – it doesn’t matter as long as we keep stretching ourselves to become better human beings every moment of everyday. Be able to find unity and oneness with everyone we meet and encounter throughout this lifetime. Just like a Mandala, which means “circle” in Indian culture and represents wholeness that extends beyond and within our bodies and minds, we can all find our innate wholeness. The Mandala appears in all aspects of life: the celestial circles we call sun, moon, and earth, as well as the conceptual circles of friends, family, and community.

My hope is that you continue this journey with me in the path of awakening, enlightenment, and a life of true inspiration. If we continue with this lifestyle we can experience the love and peace we truly desire in our hearts. I believe each one of us has an untold story that we can share with each other. My hope is that you will find a home, an”Oasis” in my blog. Express your creativity and authentic self and let’s continue to share our gifts to the world.
