Do you want a happier successful and healthier life?

Then, take the best care of your Mind, Body, Emotions and Spirit.

One of the most important roles I take very seriously is being a parent.  My son means the world to me.  And raising him with good health, nutritious food, appreciation for nature, respect for self/people and good amount of exercise is an integral part of our daily life.

Before my son was born, I did an immense amount of research about health specifically geared to interconnecting the mind, body, and soul.  My husband and I decided early on to raise our son with holistic parenting.

Helene Rothschild shares, “It is important for parents to focus on helping their children raise their self-esteem and be physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually healthy. Holistic parenting will transform homes, cities, countries and the world.”

Holistic Parenting

This is an understanding and respect how ALL LIVING THINGS are connected and how we impact one another.  In the beginning I did not even know there was a name for this kind of health lifestyle.

You see growing up in Philippines I was surrounded by holistic lifestyle although at that time I didn’t know what it meant.  All I remember in Philippines was being environmentally conscious, being grounded in our spirituality and taking the best care of our health every day.

Our diet was also geared to a plant based diet as opposed to an animal based diet.  I have never experienced fast food at a young age.  Our water was that of natural water,  and more than one occasion comes from waterfall.

Exercise was also something that was not neglected for us since we did not have the luxury to own a car.

We walked everywhere to the store, school, friend’s house.  Also, I noticed the limitation of vaccinations given to us as children.  I remember having a fever of more than 100 degrees and my grandma would put a healing plant on my head.

I’m serious…this is what I remembered growing up.

Other memories were that of respect for mother nature, animals, and living plants.  We were from a Catholic background; I remember living with full spiritual freedom and respect for the environment.  Also, I remember the lack of information and technology, especially consumerism at an early age.  I was 9 years old when we first owned a T.V. and I can’t recall staring at a tube all day long, prior to that.

Holistic parenting embraces green and non-toxic living, non-violent communication, and natural health.

Some practices that I currently do now with my son.

  • Eat clean, nourishing foods that are free of pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics
  • Eat a good portion of Alkaline Foods
  • Appreciate Nature; Sun, Moon, Air, Mountains, ocean, animals, etc…
  • Limited to/No Vaccinations
  • Meditation as a way of life
  • No use of over-the-counter drugs

Mostly Homeopathy

Naturopathy Practices

and Home-Remedies

  • No Consumerism of any kind
  • Deep Breathing (he does this well on his own)
  • Limited amount of Snacks
  • Going for long walks and spending time in Nature
  • Mostly Plant based diet with fruits and whole foods supplement as well as Organic Omega 3 for Kids (DHA)

My husband and I care about optimal health and follow these steps closely; along with label reading on all food products, the use of natural products, grocery shopping @ whole foods or Trader Joe’s, and a balanced vegetarian meal plan.

Being a parent today is not easy, and often times there are misguided information that’s being presented to us as parents.  We don’t question enough when it comes to certain health practices.

We just kinda go along.  At times we feel overwhelmed with so many decisions before us.

However, I truly believe it is our very own responsibility to continue to learn and evolve our knowledge with different health & wellness information.  I take this very seriously.

I’ll even attend any workshop pertaining to Health & Wellness and will continue to attend these workshops for years to come.

There are many choices in healthcare and lots of conflicting advice.  As a holistic mom of a three year old, I realize the need to help bridge the wellness educational gap here.

I decided early in my child’s life to make conscious choices that I felt were in the best interest of my son.

I asked lots of questions and did lots of research.

Remember this, you are not alone.

As parents, we must band together and support one another.  I continually attend the Holistic Mom Network in my area, so that I can gain further insight and more understanding.  Just as you would follow an exercise program for yourself or Success Program for your career, so must we, in understanding health practices in Holistic Way.

holistic health 4Deepak Chopra mentioned in his book A Holistic Guide to Pregnancy & Childbirth, “Health is not the mere absence of disease; it is a state of physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being.  We can even go further and define health as a higher state of consciousness, in which we recognize that the same field of intelligence that underlies our life underlies every living being.  To achieve this state it is very important that we feel loved, nourished, secure, content, and happy right from the very beginning.”

Here’s more information about Holistic Parenting. You can find out more from Holistic Mom website .

Holistic living is about taking responsibility for our actions and choices in the knowledge that these choices have consequences for all living things on the planet.

There is now more healthy living information available than ever before. We can take control of our lives, set our intent to live a holistic life and continue to learn what to do to honor and take care of our mind, body, spirit and emotions. You will be very glad that you did. Holistic people are healthy, well-balanced men, women and children.”
