Do you know that our environment is crumbling, burnt out, exhausted, and dis-eased?
Can you feel the pain?
Do you care?

Nature gives so much to us.  The sun shines everyday.  The majestic flow of air gives fullness to our lives.  We need nature for food, air, and water.

We are NOT separate beings.  There is no such thing as “them” and “us”.  No such thing as “me” or “you”.

We are ALL one.  This blogpost is about compassion in action.  I will share with you steps I have take to live more holistic and heal myself.

I made a video about Heal the Planet, Healing Yourself this is an important message so please watch when you are not distracted and PAY ATTENTION! enjoy YouTube Preview Image

As my Goddess friend Erlina Sinaga mentioned to me last week, “Nature has its own harmonious ways of being.  No Hidden Agenda. Nature supports all and loves all.”

At an early age I have always been a bit intuitive and connected with Nature.  If there’s a gust of wind I would breath deeply and say “Thank You” to the wind.  I would gaze at a star with wonder much as kids nowadays would go crazy for Mickey Mouse.  I appreciate the calmness of a lake, the glow of a rock, scary sound of thunder, and how rain drops fiercely during a storm.  I recognize their beauty and role here on Earth.

When I feel sad instead of telling my siblings or friends about it, I’d rather go out to nature and be in amazement of the BIG BLUE SKY.  I would contemplate on the limitless possibilities of LIFE. I would communicate and praise the heavens.  Simplicity is amazing. Once you harness that moment. Once you let go of your dispositions and ego and move towards compassion and NoN-Judgment.

When I was 19 years old I discovered yoga.  I enjoyed breath work. And it was the first time in my life that I was tuned with my mind, body, and soul.  I listen to the intuition and messages of my body.  I am not sure when it took place the birth and merging my consciousness and lifestyle towards holistic.  It was around this time that I studied anything and everything about herbs, yoga, massage, breath work, and as well as meditation.

I am not perfect I still have my occasional cravings of chips and soda.  I changed my diet to 95% plant based which means eating more vegetables and fruits.  I still eat seafood or fish.  One of my motivating factors was the understanding of the vitality of life and the environment.  As well as being a good role model to my son Jeroen about living in a Holistic way.

We must expand our awareness and not take things lightly.  One small act of freedom. One small act of kindness. One small act of gratitude.  We can heal the planet in this way.  In doing so uplifts our very essence and evolutionary process here.

We are not meant to dominate and put force on Mother Earth.

We are meant to embrace her. Love her. Talk to her spirit. And be united with her in harmony.

It starts with you, I want you to take small steps in living consciously. And do yourself a favor. Start where you are now.  No room for guilt just small act of progress and compassion in action.

Here are small ways you can make a difference in healing yourself and healing the planet:

Be Kind in the process

S M A L L    A C T I O N S ADD UP! :)

Live Consciously

God I don’t need 500 pairs of shoes to match my outfits, or expensive make up to cover my blemishes; I don’t even need more than 1 car. I don’t need 100 homes in separate countries with beach views. I don’t need to dye my hair 5 times a year.

God give me understanding
God give me awareness
God give me faith
God give me light
God give me love

  • Oh that's a wonderful question for me to answer...
    I LOVE nature!!!
I use to spend 1/2 hours in the afternoon walking near the river, breathing the smell of the trees and of the grass. Breathing is everything and when I'm in Nature there's so much pleasure in breathing. Given that I live in the city, I can feel the difference... So when I'm in the Green I fill my lungs with all the air that I can. That's what I really am...A Breathe.
The same when I go to the sea. Sea has another smell and I love it too. I feel so connected to everything that surrounds me!
I can feel that Planet Earth is very stable and will always prosper. It's a Well-Balanced Place that has been alive for a very long long time. And I believe it always will.
Thank you for sharing your Love for our amazing planet Therese!

  • It is important to heal the planet and it goes along with healing yourself. The movie Avatar was about this and saving the rainforest. The Avatar DVD was released on earth day.

Charles, Prince of Wales has a project to save the rainforest. Here is a 90 second commercial with him about this and it also has the Dalai Lama and other celebrities like Harrison Ford. http://c-frog.notlong.com

There is another commercial about this with corporate leaders of Google, Yahoo, Nike and Sir Richard Branson. http://g-frog.notlong.com I hope all this effort will be enough.
  • Chuck, I am touched by your motivation to enhance global awareness. Thank You for the valuable information. I appreciate it greatly.

  • What a great video, Therese!
I also believe that one person can make a difference and I am trying my best to heal the planet and myself in the process.
I haven't been watching TV for a few years now and I feel great! I do eat meat but I do it in moderation (2 or less times a week and mostly fish).
I think that moderation is actually one of the key elements in preserving our planet and ourselves. It is so important to be aware of what you actually need to live healthy and happily and what is just a useless whimsy (eating a hamburger once a month as opposed to every other day, using only as much electricity as you actually need, having a car that is reliable rather than BIG, you get the point :-))))
It is so important to spread this awareness around us. Thank you Therese for doing it!

  • Anastasiya, hmmpwwww, not watching T.V. was the BEST DECISION I ever made. I am so thankful I just took action. I love ALL THE example you shared here. I will definitely need to implement the electricity. I know I sometimes like the lights on. I love spreading the word. I know you do it everyday at your blog. I am extremely grateful for the chance to connect with you serene Anastasiya.

    Hey Darlin...

If I walk out side and a breeze is blowing lightly, the wind is blowing hard, there are huge storm clouds, there is a beautiful rain, there is a bright blue sky with white puffy clouds, if there is thunder and lightning, or warm sun on my face, I stop right then and praise God for the gift he has shown me in the beauty of nature and his planet, especially if He paints me a beutiful sunset or sunrise, I never forget to give my gratitude, I take the time to enjoy all the silly little lizards that run all over my yard, the sound of the trees when the wind is blowing through them, I also thank God for giving me the gift of noticing the nature around me, so many people go every day and don't even notice the beauty around them and I am so grateful I happen to be one that does.

A couple little things I have started, my grocery bags are the cloth ones the stores now offer, I keep them in my car and are trying to be good at bringing them in with me so I don't use plastic....I got a Britta Pitcher in my refridgerator now so I use that for me water instead of water bottles...

My kids were taught at a young age never to litter, that includes spitting out their gum on the street or sidewalk, it still blows me away when I see people just throwing their trash, gum, or cigarettes on the ground, I just don't get it......
  • Hi Stacy, I truly believe everyday that our true inner purpose is to awaken. Awaken the divinity within us. And when we praise and bless God we are nourishing our very essence. I love this, " paints me a beutiful sunset or sunrise, I never forget to give my gratitude" because it's all about Gratitude. Thank You Stacy! You taught me a lot today. Thank You for your loving contribution.
    Love you sweetie!
  • Therese, thanks so much for this video and post to get us all thinking about healing. I love your description of when you were a child how you would find all of the beauty in the earth.

I recently heard someone from the Kindness Institute say with every every action we can ask ourselves, "am I being kind to me, am I being kind to the planet and am I being kind to others?"

    Love it!!

Great tips Therese. One thing we are doing to reconnect with life is trying something new every once in a while. Work can get so routine that you forget to expand beyond that circle of activity. Keep it exciting by doing a new activity, read a book, etc. My wife has thought me this and I have her to thank for reminding me from time to time what LIVING life is all about.
  • Carlo, I appreciate you contributing to the post. It's so nice to read your comment. Trying something new is GREAT and you guys are very consistent with that. And learning is definitely important as well. You are amazing for giving respect to your wife. And great that she uplifts you in the process.
    Thank You Carlo

    Hello Therese,

Great video. Now You are adding so much value to me.
    Thanks a lot
I found a great place to start an organic garden, 100 % natural. A place to learn and practice nutrition, herbs, yoga, thai yoga massage, breath work, meditation, and EFT (emotional freedom Techniques)
The connection with nature is so important to find energy and happiness within ourselves
The place needs a lot of refurbishment and I enjoy to do it

  • Loic, when I think of you I always imagine serene and Zen place for you within your environment. So glad to see you live consciously from, "herbs, yoga, thai yoga massage, breath work, meditation, and EFT (emotional freedom Techniques)" GOOD FOR YOU!!! The connection with nature is important and is needed for our own spiritual survival.
Thank You for your contribution Loic. ;)
  • As child my Dad and I would do a lot of out door activities. Hike, play in the park, BBQ, Dune buggy's in the Desert, the Beach etc...

Now I am taking my love for the planet and myself to another by being more conscience on how I live and Eat as you mentioned.

We are a part of everything, connected to everything!

    Peace & Prosperity

  • Dallas, That's why you LOVE hiking, your dad did a lot of activities with you. It is definitely something I would like to teach my son. Although he loves morning T.V. I balance it out by going for long walks, go to the park, hike, and just being outdoors. Thanks for being here. And for your awesome friendship!
  • Hi Therese - you have such a good demeanor. I can tell you are have a vibration of happiness about you. To heal myself, I think cutting down on the processed foods and snacks (chips, chocolate) are a good goal for me. I am drinking a healthy 'Shakeology' shake in the morning which I have found to really help. Thanks for sharing your words of wisdom.
.-= Jeremy Johnson´s last blog ..Fruits From The Gift =-.
  • Hi Jeremy, Great to see you here again. Yeah it begins slowly. I think one of the things we must remember is to take it one at a time. Start where we are and make small progress along the way. I'm so glad to hear you drink shake. That's awesome. I enjoy strawberry banana in the morning blended with bunch of stuff. All healthy stuff but really gets me going. I'm ready to march out the door.
  • Beautiful post with a powerful message, Therese. You are indeed very blessed to have always been a bit intuitive and connected with nature since an early age. Not many would notice a gust of wind and say thank you. Not many would take the time to gaze at a star with wonder... the glow of a rock, the sound of thunder, or the sound of raindrops!

I completely agree it all starts with you. Indeed you can't change anything without changing yourself first. You can't heal the planet without healing yourself first. On the other hand, what you see as imbalances in nature indicate that there are imbalances in society, and down to individual level. This is law of correspondence in action... as above, so below - as below, so above.

I love your suggestion of the small ways how we ca make a difference in healing ourselves and the planet. You're right, small actions add up! If at any moment, before making a decision or taking any action, you ask yourself "is this life enhancing, or life diminishing?" (borrowed from Elaine Dembe) and go with the life enhancing decision/action, you will always end up healing yourself - and the planet.

Thank you for the wise message, Therese!

    To an awakened life,
    Andre
.-= Andre´s last blog ..Is Your Toolbox Getting Too Heavy? =-.
  • Hi Andre, Intuitive is definitely the word. I use to think it was weird. As I got older I really began to accept that part of myself. I am also raising my son to be an intuitive child. yeah everything begins with us. I'm going to borrow Elaine Dembe words. I like that a lot. Here's to an awakened life to all.
Thank You always for your contribution and for giving so generously.
    Thank You Andre ;)
