I heard this recently “success is a moving target.” Ultimately, the primary ingredient that will matter the most in the end, are the quality relationships you have with the people you love. So I would suggest defining what success means to you when accessing your true inner happiness. I think it is always the feelings we have about ourselves that matter.
For example:
I feel successful to have a great relationship with God. I feel successful to have a husband that’s wonderful, creative, loving, and supportive. I feel successful that I’m raising my son with holistic health, a positive mindset, and encouraging the genius inside him. I feel successful to take care of my health every day, and to not take physical fitness for granted. I feel successful to be given an opportunity at my current work to be innovative, passionate, and lead with example. I feel successful that I have a platform such as this blog to share my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I feel successful to have enriching and deep relationships with my family, friends, and relatives.
The list goes on and on….
How about you? How do you define success?
Stop for a minute. Stop reading this post. Who loves you? Who do you love? Without first allocating time for people close to your life, you will fail. Your goals should look like this:
Health
Relationships
Career/Financial
Personal contribution
Instead of :
Career/Financial
Family
Health
Life is made up of deep rich and meaningful relationships. I want to tell you a story:
Recently, my twin sister and I took my mom to a spa day. It was the most exhilarating time we had in a looonnnggg time. It felt so good to make time for our mom. We took her for a day of massage, manicure, pedicure, and facial. It didn’t matter how much we spent that day but what made us feel so good about this experience was making her smile. It was priceless.
Remember at the end of your life you’re not going to be thinking about how much money you made over the years, or the educational achievements you’ve had. At the end of your life, you’re going to be thinking was I really there for my family? Did I really do my best to be there for them? Remember that life is zooming by so fast.
Money should be the least indicator of wealth.
Here are my valuable advices in accessing your inner happiness every day.
1.) Find time for your health everyday. I stress on this all the time. Check out my post “10 Tips for a better healthy lifestyle-honor &love your body.” Get serious about taking care of your mind, body, emotions, and spirit.
2.) Live with strong purpose. What is your calling in life? Here is my perspective about discovering your life’s purpose. Click here. Give your best every day. If you are living your highest potential in life you’re never going to feel these 2 myths.
3.) Remember that the software drives the hardware. Then what are you saying to say to yourself everyday. Is it mostly mindset of “lack” or abundance? Remember you attract most what you feel inside.
4.) Transform your mindset from “What’s in it for me” to “how can I serve.” (Thanks Wayne Dyer for this philosophy) Service can go along way whether it’s listening to someone, giving back through volunteering, helping someone move, being compassionate and tithing.
Access your Inner Happiness by answering these questions- by Brian Tracy
1.) What would it take for me to be perfectly happy?
2.) In what situations in my life, and with whom, am I not perfectly happy?
3.) In looking over my life, where and when have I been the happiest? Where was I, with whom was I, and what was I doing?
