Mapping Out 2010 Goals: New Year Zen Mind Zen Heart
by Therese Miu on 04/12/09 at 7:24 am

Do you know why Personal Reflection is essential to your inner growth?
It allows you to pull back from your routine monotonous schedule and carefully analyze what is important in your life now.
It is about CONNECTION. And the journey is always inward.
Remember that the person looking back at you in the mirror is the one you have to answer to every day.
I am interested in Living Life Well. In every moment, I feel that life is fleeting. We must take hold of every moment and cherish Life to the FULLEST always!
I am passionate in living Life with strong purpose, commitment, and personal growth.
I am also interested in achieving higher quality and fulfilling relationships with people close to me in my life.
Wherever Focus goes, Energy flows And I want to FOCUS on my personal growth, spirituality, financial freedom, and more importantly as my role as a mom & wife.
DON’T FORGET
#1 Thing that’s important in life is the relationship you have within yourself.
“When the archer misses the mark, he turns and looks for the fault within himself. Failure to hit the bull’s eye is never the fault of the target. To improve your aim – improve yourself.” Gilbert Arland
I heard the best way to get what you want in life is to ask better questions. And here are some questions I thought of reflecting back this year:
- What have I been going through?
- What experiences this year have brought breakthrough in my life?
- What experiences made me happy?
- What do I need to improve?
I made a quick 5 minute video about my personal reflection journey and what I look forward to do. Please take a moment to watch and let me know what you think.
Before You Start the New Year:
I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO THROUGH THESE QUESTIONS and make sure to spend some time alone reflecting on your answers. BE perfectly HONEST with yourself. …
5 Most Important Questions to Ask Yourself Daily
1.) How would I live out this day if I knew it was my last?
2.) What do I have to be grateful for?
3.) What one thing could I do today to help make my life extraordinary?
4.) What can I do to make today incredibly fun?
5.) How can I help someone today?
I am grateful for you taking the time out to visit my blog. I am deeply interested in your own growth and development:
What are your 2010 goals? What are your Intentions for this coming New Year? What are you going to do everyday to TAKE ACTION on your goals?
Like Bob Marley says, “Everything’s going to be alright…..” until then SMILE!

I absolutely love this!!!! I naturally started mapping out my goals in grade school and it does work. I especially agree that with the quote if you don’t map out your goals you’ll work for someone else who does. Even a few minutes a day does wonders. Thank you Therese for sharing this post. I’m looking forward to connecting with you in NYC. Love you, Goddess!

Therese, great post AND great video, thank you!
Agree wholeheartedly with your message. It was also when I started to consistently set goals and achieve them, that my life started to change (I follow Raymond Aaron’s system, through the MonthlyMentor program, which works very well for me).
However, first I had to be clear on the things I love and what my ‘life missions’ otherwise I would probably have set goals that were not right for me. Each goal is about doing more and more of what you love, doing less and less of what you don’t love, and brings you closer to where you want to be (your life missions).
Have an absolutely wonderful time wherever you are and whatever you do Therese, talk to you soon!
Lots of love, peace, and blessings,

Andre, You touch on a lot of powerful things here: My thoughts are You have to have a clear vision of your life, A Purpose, And Mission to make your dreams a reality. Also understanding your highest values to guide your thinking and action is highly important backed up by your daily habits. In Stephen Covey, ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’
A personal mission consists of 3 parts:
What do I want to do?
Who do I want to help?
What is the result? What value will I create?
I love that you took your time out to know YOUR MISSION in Life. I would also suggest visiting Tina’s blog from Think Simple Now @ http://thinksimplenow.com/happiness/life-on-purpose-15-questions-to-discover-your-personal-mission/
In conclusion, message me later about your own mission statement for your LIFE. I love learning and growing with my community.

Thanks for this awe inspiring post. I’ve mapped out my goals as well for the year 2010. It’s so easy to under estimate time especially the ‘year’.
I just need to perfect it down to the details of planning. I’m sure there will be changes as the year goes by, but what is important is that there is a map right?
While you are at New York, try something different aside to what you normally do..maybe a different dish, have an hour of complete silence with no mind distractions>>whatever you think will contribute to your goals but something you never thought or chicken to do.
Also I think you should have a quarterly reminder for everyone if they are on point with their goals and making headway. what do you think?
Have an awesome trip my love!

Great stuff Therese!
Good for you in planning this trip. It sounds great!!
Who is it that said “If you don’t know where you’re going, you’re bound to end up somewhere else”?
My major goal this year is to become full time online and not have to work in my previous life.
Also, I want to help at least 3 people realize their dream of achieving the same as me.

This is such a great post for this time of the year! So many people have these “new years resolutions” but never go through with them. Everyone needs an accountability partner.
2010 is going to be HANDS down the best year of my life.
I have several goals in mind.
Help others with their network marketing business
Create video training on how to accomplish success online
Create my OWN business (not joining a previous company but having my OWN) EXTREMELY pumped about this.
Develop better relationships with others.
To finally be free from my J-O-B
Continue to exercise and hopefully gain a few pounds
Give as much as I can to Invisible Childern.
I love how you had all those different areas of your life separated on that poster board. You’re ROCKING it. Thanks for the share.

Therese Miu,
You’re right on with this info!
It’s so important to set goals/promises
for yourself. People don’t get into their
car and just drive in circles without an
end point in mind….
But they do that with their lives…hmmm?
One of my promises for this coming year
is to donate a minimum of 10K to people
in need.
Thanks for your wisdom:)

That’s an admirable GOAL Eric. Let’s bounce ideas later for sure and hold each other accountable for our goals. What holds people back from their goals Jairek Robbins mentioned was Time, Energy, Money, Background, Education etc.. This can be easily replaced with resourcefulness and EMPOWERING ASSOCIATIONS. Let’s move in the direction of our destiny by being a bridge to each other’s dreams. It’s all about helping each other at the end…
Very Much Looking forward to your next blogpost Eric!

Great post Therese! I started on my 2010 Goals over a month ago…I didn’t feel like waiting for New Year’s Eve lol.
I’m still going through the reflection process and defining things as I go.
I choose to live a very busy life (and I love every minute of it!), however that can get in the way of taking time to focus on very important things like this.
My main “categories” of goals (specific ones too detailed to post here without the post turning into a novel) are as follows:
“Superhuman Fitness” – I am choosing to back into Ninja shape again! (Getting close already)
“Building a Billion+ Company” – So much progress is being made here that I need to revise these goals every month or two! So grateful for the opportunity to do what I do
“Relationship Homeostasis” – I am choosing to focus on bringing the area of relationships (romantic or otherwise) to a state of balance.
“World Tour” – Travel is a big passion of mine, now I’m going to see the rest of this amazing planet we have to play on!
“Personal Passions” – Time to focus more on my gymnastics, freerunning, snowboarding, and martial arts. It’s been a few months since I’ve done any consistently, and I feel it.
I have many goals within each of these categories, but this gives you a snapshot of my areas of focus for 2010 and beyond
Thank you for the continued inspiration and great questions to ask!

So Glad you are superhumanly determined to accomplish all your goals and doing it before NY Eve is very intelligent on your part. You are driven with a higher vision, clear values, and wonderful purpose for your life.
Love that about You.
This is Great to Hear “Superhuman Fitness” and especially that’s its on top of your List! Thats Awesome! Building your Billion Dollar Business is a Massive goal but for sure attainable in due process with commitment strict discipline and Focus. I love this Video by Robin Sharma “8 Things Billionaires Do” http://www.robinsharma.com/leadership_blog_577.htm
You might already watched it. Space Repitition is key especially for what you are going to accomplish. Bringing your relationship to a state of balance will be a constant journey. I know you’ll get there. World Tour- well, I still need to party it up with you in Vegas.. can’t wait to definitely catch up in person. “Personal passions” is such key I’m moving from yoga to belly-dancing in a few months here…
I am very grateful you shared this with the community. I know all your goals, dreams, aspirations will come true. When you pursue your greatness you have no LIMIT and sounds LIKE your goals are very crystallized. Keep me in the loop on your 2010 Goals.
Looking forward to your epic adventure in LIFE Caleb.
Love Light & Blessings to you

Hi honey…thanks for this. I will sit down, sort out, map out, and meditatate on my goals for the upcoming year. I didn’t do goal setting last year, but what I did last year was setting my intention for this year. And I’ll share it with all of you.
Last year, this was my intention..”I declare harmony in all areas of my life. My needs, my gifts, people I attract, my inner being, everything is in synch and harmonious with getting me to where I needed to be; my goals, heart desires, and purpose in life”.
In 2009, my life has been amazing. As I had intended upon, whatever I needed, I got instantly. The universe just pour its heart out to me to meet my intention. The teacher I needed, showed up. The job I needed, came forward. My dream adventures, I get to partake on. The money I needed, fell on my lap. The big vision of a dream project, is taking roots this year. And I do feel that everything is working to forward me into my purpose, and so harmoniously. I guess intention is the bigger umbrella behind all goals. And I am excited to try and incorporate intention and goal setting for 2010.
In love and gratitude to you,
Erlina

Therese you inspired me to start thinking my 2010 Goals. Map out, determine my next accomplishments and growth. We get so side tracked on our day to day tasks and forget the big picture… Whatever that big picture that we all set us to keep motivated.

Great post, I love it!!
The few goals I set for 2009 were reached. I am proud of that. Now I see the power of goal-setting and feel like a dork for not setting more goals for 2009!
Your video was truly helpful. Sometimes goal setting seems so broad and daunting. I like your categories and am excited to formulate my own. I will use my 3 week winter vacation to define my 2010 goals as detailed as possible. I have many strengths that can progress further and many weaknesses to reflect on, own up to, and deal with. I think 2010 is going to be the best year yet! Really! I know you feel it too…
Have fun in NY! I will miss you! We gotta get together before you go.
And here’s an idea for when you get back: why don’t we get together with a few friends (and maybe loved ones?) so we can share all our goals! It would be fun and it would help us not only to hold each other accountable, but also helps to have people who care about us support us when we struggle. Not to mention, some of us have mutual goals ; ) !
Keep the posts coming! Much love.

Hi Therese,
Great video! I with you 100% on the goals setting…One thing I would like to share is that: Everyone knows about setting goals are important, but the one ingredient that we all lack is “Action to carry it out”. The everyday disciplines are very crucial factor in our accomplishment of our goals. I believed that you are on the right track of hitting your goals. My personal goals for 2010 are: Have great relationships with my family (Wife-Janene, and my two sons -Maxximus and Justuss): Mentor 100 new agents into our business and share with them the knowledge of being self-employed; Being more involved with the San Diego Good Samaritan Lions Club.
Enjoy your time off and wish you the best on your 2010 goals.
God bless you and your family,
Minh

Hi Therese!! You did such a great youtube post! I was smiling the whole video. What you say is very inspiring by showing examples of what lingers on your mindset and personal goals.
With that said….my goals for 2010 is to organize my life. I feel 2009 was a blur and chaotic. So for 2010, I want to re-organize, re-fresh, and start off with that second wind. This time, I will make an effort to slow down a bit, even though I may desire things now. I can only do that with the right step and the first step.
We will see each other soon, Love you! Dana

WoW Ronny! That is simply incredible! I am so honored you share this with the community.
I checked out your website and the 5 step process is MAGNIFICIENT:
1. Download, print, and fold the booklet
2. Write down your SMART goals:
* Specific
* Measurable
* Attainable
* Relevant
* Time-bound
3. Review regularly (at least weekly)
4. Check-off when achieving goals
5. Reward yourself
I thank YOU!
